Dave: One critic has asked, “If God is all-knowing and all-powerful, and has everything under control, why does he keep asking for money every Sunday?”
Jeff: God asks for money because he cares about our hearts.
Dave: Luke 12:34 says, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Jeff: Let’s be honest: how often have we not exactly been excited about going to Heaven? I’ve been there. We’re human!
Dave: Sometimes putting my heart into knowing God is hard… I’d rather kick it at the beach.
Jeff: God knows that where we put our money, we’ll start to find value in. If we put all our money into ourselves, we’ll be pretty self absorbed.
Dave: But, if we put money into God’ Kingdom, we’ll eventually be concerned about that.
Jeff: So, it’s not that God wants your money – he wants you! And he wants you to want Heaven! And, literally, one of the best ways to do that is to put your money there.
Dave: Every investor is concerned about the company he invests in. He checks in on it, thinks about… the same is true of God’s Kingdom.
Jeff: Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
