Dave: An atheist website lists a proof against God’s existence:
Jeff: First they say God is all good and loving.
Dave: We’d agree that our God is like that.
Jeff: Then they say, if God exists it would be in his interest to make sure that
people knew his morals exactly.Dave: “But”, they say, “humans disagree about morality. Therefore: God does not
exist.”Jeff: We don’t like the argument for a lot of reasons, but one reason is that C.S.
Lewis has pointed out that different cultures have STRIKINGLY SIMILAR morals!Dave: He said, ” If anyone will take the trouble to compare the moral teaching of,
say, the ancient Egyptians, Babylonians, Hindus, Chinese, Greeks and Romans,
what will really strike him will be how very like they are to each other and to our
own… ”Jeff: He continues ” Men have differed as to whether you should have one wife or
four. But they have always agreed that you must not simply have any woman you
liked ”Dave: Study it -most cultures are more alike in their morals than they are
different.Jeff: And this is not a disproof of the existence of God, but a proof for morality
