Topic Notes

  • The difference between the Kalam Cosmological Argument and the Vertical Cosmological Argument
  • Why are both arguments important?
    • The argument goes like this:

    • 1. Everything in the universe is dependent upon something else.
    • 2. If everything is dependent, then the whole universe together is dependent.
    • 3. Therefore, the whole universe is dependent on some independent Being beyond the universe for its current existence.

    • Listener Question
      • if a text like the ending of Mark can make it into Scripture, then how can we say God is guiding this book? How can we say it is all inspired? How do we know if other texts in or out of the Bible are really inspired or not? If we say the ending of Mark shouldn’t be there, then what else in the Bible shouldn’t be there? Thx.
