Dave: A few questions about demons – first: Can a Christian be possessed by a
demon?

Jeff: No. 1 Corinthians 3:16 says, “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s
temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? ”

Dave: If we believe that a Christian can be possessed we’re suggesting that the
Holy Spirit can be kicked out by something far weaker.

Jeff: Christians can be tempted and oppressed, though. James 3:14-16 suggests
that bitterness in Christians comes from the devil’s temptings.

Dave: Can demons cause people to get sick?

Jeff: It is possible, but please note that not all sickness if from demons.

Dave: Right. Matthew 9:32-33 shows Jesus healing a man who was mute. As soon
as the demon was driven out, he could speak again.

Jeff: But please don’t assume that just because you have a cold, you are being
attacked by Satan. Viruses are not demons.

Dave: The big thing we have to look out for comes from Genesis 3:1 and John 8:44.

Jeff: Satan lies to us, and tries to plant doubt in us about God’s truth. Don’t
believe it. Believe that GOD LOVES YOU.
