Dave: In the previous Truth Shots we showed that Matthew 24 referred to a time very near Jesus’ day, and not the end of the world.

Jeff: So, what was Jesus talking about in Matthew 24? Just listen, see if you can figure it out…

Dave: Matthew 24:1-3says, “Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 ‘Do you see all these things?’ he asked. ‘I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.’ 3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. ‘Tell us,’ they said, ‘when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?'”

Jeff: Jesus was talking about the destruction of the temple in Matthew 24! At the time of Jesus, it had stood for over 500 years!

Dave: But, in the year 70 AD, the Roman Emperor Titus captured Jerusalem and destroyed the Temple only a few decades after Jesus saying it would happen!

Jeff: Jesus correctly prophesied its destruction.
