Dave: Judges 13:5 talks about Samson and says, “the boy is to be a Nazirite, set apart to God from birth, and he will begin the deliverance of Israel from the hands of the Philistines.”

Jeff: Samson was a Nazarite. Someone who was separated unto God.

Dave: And Samson’s Purpose: “begin the deliverance of Israel from the hands of the Philistines”

Jeff: Eventually, if you know the story, he gets distracted. When Samson willingly tells Delilah about his hair, he is willingly focusing on something beside God’s purpose for his life.

Dave: We can throw stones, but really, we often we go on with our lives using the gifts God has given us for our own purpose!

Jeff: NO MORE DISTRACTIONS!

Dave: NO MORE USING OUR GIFTS FOR OUR OWN PURPOSE!

Jeff: Hudson Taylor once said, “How few of the Lord’s people have practically recognized the truth that Christ is either Lord of all or he is not Lord at all!”

Dave: LET US SERVE THE LORD OF ALL WITH ALL OUR STRENGTH AND LET US NOT BE DISTRACTED ANYMORE!

Jeff: Read more about Samson in Judges 16.
