Dave: After death, do humans become angels in Heaven?
Jeff: We’ll often use the term angels metaphorically. “My daughter is an angel!”
Dave: “This angel food cake is wonderful!”
Jeff: It’s common to use the term angel as a term of endearment.
Dave: So, if that’s all we mean, there’s nothing wrong with the terminology.
Jeff: But, if we want to talk Biblical facts, saying that a loved one has become an angel is actually downgrading them.
Dave: In 1 Corinthians 6:3, the Apostle Paul asks, “Do you not know that we will judge angels?”
Jeff: You see, humanity, in some manner of speaking, will apparently rank above angels
Dave: We’ll even have the job of judging their actions.
Jeff: So, when you think of your loved ones who have passed on, remember their authority.
Dave: Think, too, about how Jesus will return and restore their bodies to perfection!
Jeff: Remember when Christ rose from the dead and was PERFECT?
Dave: Philippians 3:21 says that Jesus, “will transform our lowly bodies so that they will become like his glorious body.”
Jeff: PERFECT HUMAN BODIES.. just like Jesus.. THAT is our goal! Not to be an angel!
