Dave: 1 Kings 4:26 says Solomon had 40,000 stalls for horses.
Jeff: But 2nd Chronicles 9:25 says he had 4,000.
Dave: Well, there ya have it folks the Bible can’t be trusted.
Jeff: Nah, don’t worry – In Hebrew script the difference between 40k and 4k is
very small, THIS WAS JUST AN ERROR BY A COPYIST!Dave: So the Bible wasn’t copied correctly?
Jeff: Well, the copies can have errors…
Dave: But we need to figure out what was originally written in the Bible.
Jeff: Right. We only have manuscripts. But that doesn’t mean we can’t trust the
Scriptures.Dave: When you compare old manuscripts to our current Bible, they AGREE ON
ALMOST EVERY SINGLE POINT!Jeff: For example – the Dead Sea Scrolls date back to around 100AD – and we’ve
compared them to our current Bibles!Dave: And the Big Question is: how many changes have there been in 2,000 years
of copying?Jeff: Not many… they were 95% identical!!! The 5% differences were mainly
spelling!!! Or small errors like 40,000 instead of 4,000 horse stalls. But nothing of
substance changed.
